Average FY27 faculty salary by rank: Wichita State against Nebraska–Omaha

Budgeted FY27 salary by rank at Wichita State (lines above 0.5 FTE, per 1.0 FTE) and the University of Nebraska at Omaha; chairs included at their rank, deans left out on both sides. Pick a field for a like-for-like comparison.

† fewer than 10 people. The Nebraska file has no FTE field (part-time appointments count at the salary shown) and is total salary including stipends. Omaha has no engineering college, so engineering is not compared here.

Peers · the same people over time · FY21–FY27

The same tenure-track faculty, FY21–FY27: Wichita State against the Nebraska campuses

The same faculty at each university: in the data every comparison year, same track throughout, never a chair or dean, so composition cannot move the lines. Wichita State is budgeted salary per 1.0 FTE; Nebraska is base rank salary, so stipends never count as raises. Every year FY21 to FY27 is required and Kansas, with only FY2026–27, cannot be followed. “Same rank only” removes everyone promoted in the window (tenure-track only).

† fewer than 10 people. “In the data FY21” is each university's starting group; the gap to “same people every year” is turnover and role changes. “Per year” is the compound annual rate. A person's field is their FY21 college (Wichita State) or department (Nebraska), the same lists as above; UNO has no engineering faculty in the data.

Senior administration over time: Wichita State against the Nebraska campuses

How many people each university budgets in each group — senior administration (president or chancellor, provost, their vice, associate and assistant versions, general counsel and chief officers; no deans, directors or support posts), staff paid $100K or more, tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty, and all staff — and what each group costs. One rule on every side. This senior-administration band is narrower than the Employees tab’s, which also counts deans, so the two counts differ by design. Nebraska’s system-wide executives sit in a separate central administration and are not in the campus figures; the dashed line removes Wichita State’s Division of Research; NIAR is not covered by this dashboard. KU publishes no staff data.

Combined pay = the group’s budgeted salaries that year (headcount and raises both move it); the group is whoever holds such a position that year. Budget lines are summed per person before the $100K test; athletics posts are never senior administration.
